MEET THE DOCTORS

DR. MELONIE MACDONALD
I’ve spent my career blending compassion and innovation to create a dental experience that feels as good as it looks.

WHAT I'M ALL ABOUT
Hi, I’m Dr. Mel!

My journey in dentistry began as a Dental Assistant after graduating from NAIT in 1989. I quickly discovered how much I loved helping people smile with confidence - a passion that inspired me to continue my education at the University of Alberta, where I earned my Bachelor of Science in 1998 and my Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2000.

After nearly two decades as an Associate Dentist, I decided to create something of my own - a clinic built around warmth, technology, and genuine patient connection. That vision became Citadel Dental, a fully digital practice in St. Albert that’s grown from four to nine operatories in just a few short years.
With more than 30 years of experience, I believe in continuous learning and staying at the forefront of modern dentistry. I’ve trained with LVI Global and Spear Education, and had the incredible opportunity to attend an exclusive retreat with Dr. Frank Spear - truly a highlight of my career. I’ve provided clear aligner treatments since 2003 and am proud to serve as a Key Opinion Leader for Dentsply Sirona and Resident Faculty at CDOCS, where I mentor other dentists in digital and esthetic care.

At Citadel Dental, we focus on creating an environment that feels calm, personalized, and empowering. Whether it’s smile design, digital imaging, family care, or esthetic treatments, every detail of your visit is designed to make you feel comfortable and confident in your care.

When I’m away from the clinic, you’ll usually find me cycling, training for triathlons, or spending time with my husband, Kevin, and our three dogs - Macy, Ridley, and Nelson.

DR. LAURA HILDEBRANDT
I love all facets of general practice, but surgery, including placing implants, brings me the most joy. Working in a digitally-driven office makes the experience even better.

WHAT I'M ALL ABOUT
Hi, I'm Dr. Laura Hildebrandt!
I’m a born and raised Edmontonian. I did my Bachelor of Science at MacEwan University and my Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Toronto. I hadn’t gotten quite enough of school by that point, so I completed the General Practice Residency (GPR) here at the University of Alberta where I was trained in IV conscious sedation, difficult surgeries, and treating patients with complex medical conditions.

Dentistry can be a nerve wracking experience for many, which is why I strive to make patients comfortable for their entire visit. This is why I am certified in nitrous oxide, oral, and IV sedation.

When I’m not in the clinic, you can find me watching Oilers games, exploring the outdoors with my family and friends, or going to shows at theatres around Edmonton!

DR. JORDANA TARRABAIN
I enjoy all aspects of dentistry and am committed to the highest level of patient care. My goal is to make patients feel relaxed and enjoy their dental visit through both kindness and knowledge.

I am looking forward to expanding my aesthetic dentistry at Citadel Dental. I am certified in Level 2 Neuromodulators.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I love eating, when I’m not in the office, you can find me at the newest restaurants or attempting to recreate a recipe in my own kitchen.
